Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1683","heading":"Committee of Electrical Examiners - Membership - Term -","body":"Vacancies - Rules, regulations and examinations - Compensation -\n\nQuorum.\n\nA. There is hereby established the Committee of Electrical\n\nExaminers which shall consist of seven (7) members. All members of\n\nthe Committee shall be residents of this state.\n\nB. Beginning January 1, 2002, as the terms of members serving\n\non the Committee expire, six voting members of the Committee shall\n\nbe appointed by the Construction Industries Board as follows:\n\n1. One member shall be an electrical inspector selected from a\n\nlist of names submitted by a statewide organization of electrical\n\ninspectors;\n\n2. One member shall be selected from a list of names submitted\n\nby a statewide organization of electrical contractors representing\n\nunion contractors;\n\n3. One member shall be selected from a list of names submitted\n\nby a statewide organization representing builders and contractors;\n\n4. One member shall be a journeyman wireman selected from a\n\nlist of names submitted by a statewide organization of union\n\njourneymen wiremen;\n\n5. One member shall be a journeyman wireman selected from lists\n\nof names submitted from the electrical construction industry; and\n\n6. One member shall be selected from a list of names submitted\n\nby a statewide organization of electrical contractors representing\n\nnonunion contractors. The term of the initial appointee shall be\n\nfor two (2) years.\n\nAll members shall each have at least ten (10) years of active\n\nexperience as licensed electrical contractors, journeyman\n\nelectricians or as an electrical inspector. No member shall be\n\nemployed by the same person or firm as any other member of the\n\nCommittee. The terms of members so appointed shall be staggered and\n\nshall be for two (2) years, or until their successors are appointed\n\nand qualified.\n\nThe nonvoting member shall be designated by the Board from its\n\nstaff to serve on the Committee at the will of the Board.\n\nC. Vacancies which may occur in the membership of the Committee\n\nshall be filled by appointment of the Board. Each person who has\n\nbeen appointed to fill a vacancy shall serve for the remainder of\n\nthe term for which the member he or she succeeds was appointed and\n\nuntil his or her successor has been appointed and has qualified.\n\nMembers of the Committee may be removed from office by the Board for\n\ncause in the manner provided by law for the removal of officers not\n\nsubject to impeachment.\n\nD. The Committee shall assist and advise the Board on all\n\nmatters relating to the formulation of rules and standards in\n\naccordance with the Electrical License Act. The Committee shall\n\nadminister the examinations of applicants for licenses as electrical\n\ncontractors or journeyman electricians provided that such\n\nexaminations shall be in accordance with the provisions of the\n\nElectrical License Act. The Committee may authorize the Board to\n\nconduct tests on their behalf as the Committee deems necessary.\n\nE. All members of the Committee shall be reimbursed for\n\nexpenses incurred while in the performance of their duties in\n\naccordance with the State Travel Reimbursement Act.\n\nF. A majority of the total membership of the Committee shall\n\nconstitute a quorum for the transaction of business.\n\nG. The Committee shall elect from among its membership a chair,\n\nvice-chair and secretary to serve terms of not more than one (1)\n\nyear ending on June 30 of the year designated as the end of the\n\nofficer's term. The chair or vice-chair shall preside at all\n\nmeetings. The chair, vice-chair and secretary shall perform such\n\nduties as may be directed by the Committee.
