The provisions of the Electrical License Act shall not apply\n\nto:\n\n1. Minor repairs, consisting of repairing or replacing outlets\n\nor minor working parts of electrical fixtures;\n\n2. Maintenance work for state and federal institutions;\n\n3. The construction, installation, maintenance, repair and\n\nrenovation by a public utility regulated by the Corporation\n\nCommission;\n\n4. Public service corporations, telephone and telegraph\n\ncompanies, rural electric associations or municipal utilities;\n\n5. The construction, installation, maintenance, repair and\n\nrenovation of telephone equipment or computer systems by a person,\n\nfirm, or corporation engaged in the telecommunications or\n\ninformation systems industry when such activities involve work\n\nexclusively for communication of data, voice, or for other signaling\n\npurposes; except fire alarm systems, security systems and\n\nenvironmental control systems that are not an integral part of a\n\ntelecommunications system; or\n\n6. The installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of\n\nwater supply pumps, provided such work is performed from the output\n\nside of a fused disconnect or breaker box.\n\nB. Nothing in the Electrical License Act shall be construed to\n\nrequire:\n\n1. Employment of a licensed electrical contractor, journeyman\n\nelectrician or electrical apprentice except as required by local\n\nordinances and resolutions;\n\n2. Any regular employee of any firm or corporation to hold a\n\nlicense before doing any electrical work on the property of the firm\n\nor corporation whether or not the property is owned, leased or\n\nrented except as may be required by local ordinances and\n\nresolutions; or\n\n3.
