Any person who violates any of the provisions of the\n\nElectrical License Act or any provision of an ordinance or\n\nregulation enacted by a city or town by authority of the Electrical\n\nLicense Act, in addition to suffering possible suspension or\n\nrevocation of a license or registration, shall, upon conviction, be\n\nguilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not less\n\nthan Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) nor more than One Thousand\n\nDollars ($1,000.00), together with the costs of prosecution.\n\nB. In addition to other penalties provided by law, if after a\n\nhearing in accordance with the provisions of Section 1689 of this\n\ntitle, the Electrical Hearing Board shall find any person to be in\n\nviolation of any of the provisions of this act, such person may be\n\nsubject to an administrative fine of not more than Five Hundred\n\nDollars ($500.00) for each violation. Each day a person is in\n\nviolation of this act may constitute a separate violation. The\n\nmaximum fine will not exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00). All\n\nadministrative fines collected pursuant to the provisions of this\n\nsubsection shall be deposited in the Electrical Revolving Fund.\n\nAdministrative fines imposed pursuant to this subsection shall be\n\nenforceable in the district courts of this state.\n\nC. The Electrical Hearing Board may make application to the\n\nappropriate court for an order enjoining the acts or practices\n\nprohibited by this act, and upon a showing by the Electrical Hearing\n\nBoard that the person has engaged in any of the prohibited acts or\n\npractices, an injunction, restraining order, or other order as may\n\nbe appropriate shall be granted by the court.\n\nD. If any electrical facilities as defined in the Electrical\n\nLicense Act are in violation of the National Electrical Code set\n\nforth in the National Fire Code (Electrical) issued by the National\n\nFire Protection Association, NFPA number 70, current edition, as\n\namended, or any ordinance or other regulation of a city or town, the\n\nproper authorities of the state or political subdivision of the\n\nstate, in addition to other remedies, may institute appropriate\n\naction or proceedings to prevent any illegal installation or use of\n\nsuch facilities, to restrain, correct or abate any violation, or to\n\nprevent illegal occupancy of a building or structure.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6be2a6d91c6107bbb2669e9ab613056b282822f4ea594bb9184612146bdcf700","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1694","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1696"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
