Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1750.14","heading":"Nonresidents apprehending persons who have forfeited","body":"bail to be accompanied by peace officer or bail bondsman.\n\nA. Except as provided in subsection C or D of this section, any\n\nperson who is not a resident of this state who intends to apprehend\n\nin this state, or attempts to apprehend, a defendant who has failed\n\nto appear before any court of this state or another state or any\n\nfederal court as required by law and has forfeited bail or for\n\npurposes of apprehending a defendant prior to breach of an\n\nundertaking or bail contract, shall be required to have a client\n\ncontract with a bail enforcer licensed in this state or to be\n\nlicensed bail enforcer in this state prior to such apprehension or\n\nto be accompanied at the time of the apprehension by a peace\n\nofficer.\n\nB. Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall\n\nbe guilty of a violation of the Bail Enforcement and Licensing Act\n\nand shall be punished as provided in Section 3 of this act.\n\nC. The provisions of this section shall not apply to law\n\nenforcement officers of any jurisdiction.\n\nD. The provisions of this section shall not apply to licensed\n\nbondsmen in this state appointed by an insurer doing business in\n\nthis state with regard to a defendant on a bond posted by that\n\ninsurer, provided the appointed bondsman has been continuously\n\nlicensed in this state for a period of five (5) years or more\n\nbeginning on the effective date of this act.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"acc2aab2a67a3b491d730529a1343e47381a66579e3dcf7d641170668c088030","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1750.11","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1750.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
