Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1800.12","heading":"Municipalities or counties may levy charges for alarm","body":"installation connections - Disconnection of faulty systems -\n\nOrdinances prohibited.\n\nA. Any municipality or county may levy and collect reasonable\n\ncharges for alarm installation connections located in or at a police\n\nor fire department which is owned, operated or monitored by the\n\nmunicipality or county. Any municipality or county may require\n\ndiscontinuance of service of any alarm signal device which, due to\n\nmechanical malfunction or faulty equipment, causes excessive false\n\nalarms and, in the opinion of the appropriate county or municipal\n\nofficial, becomes a detriment to the functions of the department\n\ninvolved. The municipality or county may cause the disconnection of\n\nthe device until the same is repaired to the satisfaction of the\n\nappropriate official; however, the municipality or county shall\n\nadvise the owner or user of the device of the disconnection in\n\nadvance or as soon as reasonably practicable. The municipality or\n\ncounty may levy and collect reasonable reconnection fees.\n\nMechanical malfunction and faulty equipment shall not include, for\n\nthe purpose of the Alarm, Locksmith and Fire Sprinkler Industry Act,\n\nfalse alarms caused by human error or an act of God.\n\nB. No municipality may adopt any ordinance concerning the\n\nlicensing of any alarm, locksmith or fire sprinkler industry\n\nbusiness or individual which is or may be licensed pursuant to the\n\nAlarm, Locksmith and Fire Sprinkler Industry Act.\n\nC. No municipality or county may adopt any ordinance, order, or\n\nregulation concerning the installation, operation, or usage of a\n\nbattery-charged security fence as long as the installation,\n\noperation, and usage of the battery-charged security fence follows\n\nthe requirements and standards prescribed in Section 3 of this act.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c76889ea283f21f12b9333313aacaf3166137f32c42797667029fd4a89c95c75","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1800.11","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1800.13"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
