Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1800.2","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Alarm, Locksmith and Fire Sprinkler Industry Act:\n\n1. \"Alarm industry\" means the sale, except as provided in\n\nSection 1800.3 of this title, installation, alteration, repair,\n\nreplacement, service, inspection, or maintenance of alarm systems or\n\nservice involving receipt of alarm signals for the purpose of\n\nemployee response and investigation of such signals or any\n\ncombination of the foregoing activities except inspections on one-\n\nand two-family dwellings are exempt;\n\n2. \"Alarm system\" means one or more devices designed either to\n\ndetect and signal an unauthorized intrusion or entry or to signal a\n\nfire or other emergency condition, which signals are responded to by\n\npublic law enforcement officers, fire department personnel, private\n\nguards or security officers;\n\n3. \"Battery-charged security fence\" means an alarm system and\n\nancillary components or equipment attached to such a system\n\nincluding, but not limited to, a fence, a battery-operated\n\nenergizer, which is intended to periodically deliver voltage\n\nimpulses to the fence connected to it, and a battery-charging device\n\nused exclusively to charge the battery;\n\n4. \"Committee\" means the Alarm, Locksmith and Fire Sprinkler\n\nIndustry Committee;\n\n5. \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Labor;\n\n6. \"Integrated security system\" means a mechanical and/or\n\nelectronic security device that includes, but is not limited to,\n\nmultiple integrated locks, burglar alarm systems, access control\n\nsystems, fiber optic security systems, video surveillance systems,\n\nand nurse call systems, but does not include a stand-alone-single-\n\nelement of an integrated security system;\n\n7. \"Licensee\" means any person licensed pursuant to the Alarm,\n\nLocksmith and Fire Sprinkler Industry Act;\n\n8. \"Lock\" means mechanical or electronic devices consisting\n\nentirely of Class 2 or Class 3 circuits and power source\n\nrequirements as established by the National Electrical Code and\n\ndesigned to control use of a device or control ingress or egress of\n\na structure or automobile including, but not limited to, peripheral\n\ndevices to alarm systems, safes, vaults, safe deposit boxes,\n\nbiometric/retina readers and mechanical or electronic key systems;\n\n9. \"Locksmith industry\" means the sale, servicing or\n\ninstalling, repairing, rebuilding, readying, rekeying, repinning,\n\nadjusting or installing locks, mechanical or electronic security\n\ndevices, annunciation devices not designed to require a response by\n\nlaw enforcement or opening or bypassing a lock by a means other than\n\nthose intended by the manufacturer of such devices. For the\n\npurposes of the Alarm, Locksmith and Fire Sprinkler Industry Act,\n\n\"mechanical or electronic security devices\" includes, but is not\n\nlimited to, access control systems including peripheral devices to\n\nalarm systems, fiber optic security systems, fire sprinklers, closed\n\ncircuit television, video surveillance and nurse call systems;\n\n10. \"Person\" means an individual, sole proprietorship, firm,\n\npartnership, association, limited liability company, corporation, or\n\nother similar entity; and\n\n11. \"Residential alarm monitoring or service contract\" means a\n\ncontract with end users for alarm monitoring and/or services for\n\nindividual residential premises for their own use.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a7da92910f985cc2707a41ab704b55c2ab130ceab4254777196e52f787845922","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1800.19","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1800.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
