There is hereby created the Alarm, Locksmith and Fire\n\nSprinkler Industry Committee, which shall consist of nine (9)\n\nmembers. One member shall be the Commissioner of Labor or the\n\nCommissioner's designated representative and eight members shall be\n\nappointed by the Governor with the consent of the Senate. Seven of\n\nthe appointed members shall have at least five (5) years of\n\nexperience in the alarm, locksmith or fire sprinkler industry or in\n\na closely related field with broad working knowledge of the alarm,\n\nlocksmith or fire sprinkler industry and active employment status in\n\nsuch field during the term of appointment. At least one of the\n\nappointed members shall be from each working field or closely\n\nrelated industries of burglar alarm, fire alarm, fire sprinkler,\n\nelectronic access control, locksmith, closed circuit television,\n\nvideo surveillance, and nurse call system, except when a qualified\n\ncandidate for appointment is not available in the working field.\n\nOne of the appointed members shall be a lay member. No member shall\n\nbe employed by the same person as any other member of the Committee.\n\nB. The term of office of each appointed member shall be a\n\nstaggered term of four (4) years with a limit of two full terms.\n\nNotwithstanding the term of office, each appointed member shall\n\ncontinue to serve until his or her successor has been duly qualified\n\nand appointed. All appointees must qualify under the Alarm,\n\nLocksmith and Fire Sprinkler Industry Act.\n\nC. Members of the Committee may be removed from office by the\n\nGovernor at any time. A member missing two or more committee\n\nmeetings in a single year without justifiable cause may be removed\n\nand replaced by the Governor at the request of the Committee.\n\nD. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the Governor\n\nwith the consent of the Senate for the unexpired term of the\n\nvacancy. Should an appointment from a working field become vacant\n\nor be without qualified candidates for appointment, that working\n\nfield may be filled by a person from another working field.\n\nE. The members of the Committee shall serve without pay but may\n\nbe reimbursed for actual expenses pursuant to the State Travel\n\nReimbursement Act.\n\nF. The Committee shall elect from among its membership a chair,\n\nvice-chair and secretary to serve terms of not more than two (2)\n\nyears ending on May 31 of the year designated by the Committee. The\n\nchair or vice-chair shall preside at all meetings. The chair, vice-\n\nchair and secretary shall perform such duties as may be decided by\n\nthe Committee in order to effectively administer the Alarm,\n\nLocksmith and Fire Sprinkler Industry Act or as directed by the\n\nCommissioner of Labor.\n\nG. A majority of Committee members shall constitute a quorum to\n\ntransact official business.\n\nH. The Committee shall meet at such times as the Committee\n\ndeems necessary to implement the Alarm, Locksmith and Fire Sprinkler\n\nIndustry Act.\n\nI.
