Any person applying for a license to engage in a fire\n\nextinguisher industry business pursuant to the Fire Extinguisher\n\nLicensing Act shall provide evidence to the Fire Extinguisher\n\nIndustry Committee that the individual within this state having\n\ndirect supervision over the function and local operations of the\n\nfire extinguisher industry business or a branch thereof has the\n\nfollowing qualifications:\n\n1. The individual is at least twenty-one (21) years of age;\n\n2. The individual has not been declared by any court of\n\ncompetent jurisdiction incompetent by reason of mental defect or\n\ndisease;\n\n3. The individual is not a habitual user of intoxicating\n\nliquors or habit-forming drugs;\n\n4. The individual has not been discharged from the Armed\n\nServices of the United States under other than honorable conditions;\n\nand\n\n5. The individual meets such other standards as may be\n\nestablished by the State Fire Marshal Commission relating to\n\nexperience or knowledge of the fire extinguisher industry.\n\nB. The applicant shall advise the Committee and furnish full\n\ninformation on each individual described in subsection A of this\n\nsection of any conviction of a felony crime which substantially\n\nrelates to the occupation of an individual in a fire extinguisher\n\nindustry business and poses a reasonable threat to public safety for\n\nwhich a full pardon has not been granted. The applicant shall\n\nfurnish a recent photograph of a type prescribed by the Committee\n\nand two classifiable sets of fingerprints of such individual.\n\nC. As used in this section:\n\n1. \"Substantially relates\" means the nature of criminal conduct\n\nfor which the person was convicted has a direct bearing on the\n\nfitness or ability to perform one or more of the duties or\n\nresponsibilities necessarily related to the occupation; and\n\n2. \"Poses a reasonable threat\" means the nature of criminal\n\nconduct for which the person was convicted involved an act or threat\n\nof harm against another and has a bearing on the fitness or ability\n\nto serve the public or work with others in the occupation.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"251b90ee13953705ee4f4731a17b1a99edd8166fbc9e8398ecfea3a21a967b13","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1820.10","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1820.12"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
