Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1850.8","heading":"Qualifications for licensure as mechanical journeyman","body":"or mechanical contractor - Licenses - Limited license.\n\nA. The Construction Industries Board shall issue a license as a\n\nmechanical journeyman or mechanical contractor to any person who:\n\n1. Has been certified by the Committee of Mechanical Examiners\n\nas having successfully passed the appropriate examination; and\n\n2. Has paid the license fee and has otherwise complied with the\n\nprovisions of the Mechanical Licensing Act. The license fees shall\n\nbe established by rule by the Board pursuant to Section 1000.5 of\n\nthis title.\n\nB. All licenses shall be nontransferable. No license shall be\n\nissued for longer than one (1) year and all licenses shall expire on\n\nthe last day in the birth month of the licensee. Licenses renewed\n\nmore than thirty (30) days following the date of expiration may only\n\nbe renewed upon application and payment of the required fees and\n\npayment of any penalty for late renewal, as shall be established by\n\nthe Board. No journeyman or contractor license shall be renewed\n\nunless the licensee has completed the required hours of continuing\n\neducation as determined by the Committee. Persons who are licensed\n\nas contractors under the Mechanical Licensing Act may have their\n\nlicense placed on inactive status by paying the annual renewal fee\n\nand eliminating the bonding and insurance requirements. No late fee\n\nshall be charged to renew a license which expired while the\n\napplicant was in military service, if application is made within one\n\n(1) year of discharge from the military service.\n\nC. The Board is authorized to establish and issue, subject to\n\nthe provisions of the Mechanical Licensing Act, limited licenses in\n\neach area of mechanical work based on the experience, ability,\n\nexamination scores and the education of the applicant.
