An applicant who meets the requirements for certification or\n\nlicensure pursuant to the provisions of the Licensed Alcohol and\n\nDrug Counselors Act, pays the required certification or license\n\nfees, and otherwise complies with the provisions of the Licensed\n\nAlcohol and Drug Counselors Act shall be certified or licensed by\n\nthe Oklahoma Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors.\n\nB. Each initial certificate or license issued pursuant to the\n\nLicensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors Act shall expire twelve (12)\n\nmonths from the date of issuance unless sooner revoked.\n\nC. 1. A certificate or license may be renewed annually upon\n\napplication and payment of fees. The application for renewal shall\n\nbe accompanied by evidence satisfactory to the Board that the\n\napplicant has satisfied relevant professional or continuing\n\neducation requirements during the previous twelve (12) months.\n\n2. Failure to renew a certificate or license shall result in\n\nforfeiture of the rights and privileges granted by the certificate\n\nor license.\n\nD. A person whose certificate or license has expired may make\n\napplication to the Board, in writing, within one (1) year following\n\nthe expiration date of the certificate or license requesting\n\nreinstatement in a manner prescribed by the Board and upon payment\n\nof the fees required by the provisions of the Licensed Alcohol and\n\nDrug Counselors Act. The certificate or license of a person whose\n\ncertificate or license has been expired for more than one (1) year\n\nshall not be reinstated. A person may reapply for a new certificate\n\nor license as provided in Section 7 of this act.\n\nE. A certified or licensed alcohol and drug counselor whose\n\ncertificate or license is current and in good standing and who\n\nwishes to retire the certificate or license may do so by informing\n\nthe Board in writing and returning the certificate or license to the\n\nBoard.
