It shall be unlawful for any person who is not certified or\n\nlicensed or specifically exempt from the provisions of Section 3 of\n\nthe Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors Act to:\n\n1. Represent himself or herself by the title “licensed alcohol\n\nand drug counselor” or “certified alcohol and drug counselor”\n\nwithout having first complied with the provisions of the Licensed\n\nAlcohol and Drug Counselors Act;\n\n2. Use the title of licensed alcohol and drug counselor,\n\ncertified alcohol and drug counselor, or any other name, style or\n\ndescription denoting that the person is certified or licensed as a\n\ncertified or licensed alcohol and drug counselor;\n\n3. Practice alcohol and drug counseling; or\n\n4. Advertise or otherwise offer to perform alcohol- or drug-\n\nabuse-related counseling services.\n\nB. The provisions of subsection A of this section shall not\n\napply to persons who are exempt pursuant to the provisions of\n\nSection 3 of this act.\n\nC. Any person violating the provisions of subsection A of this\n\nsection shall, upon conviction thereof, be guilty of a misdemeanor\n\npunishable by a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)\n\nnor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense,\n\nimprisonment for a term not to exceed six (6) months in the county\n\njail, or by both such fine and imprisonment.\n\nD.
