An applicant who meets the requirements for licensure\n\npursuant to the provisions of the Licensed Professional Counselors\n\nAct, has paid the required license fees and has otherwise complied\n\nwith the provisions of the Licensed Professional Counselors Act\n\nshall be licensed by the State Board of Behavioral Health Licensure.\n\nB. Each initial license issued pursuant to the Licensed\n\nProfessional Counselors Act shall expire twenty-four (24) months\n\nfrom the date of issuance unless revoked. A license may be renewed\n\nannually upon application and payment of fees. The application for\n\nrenewal shall be accompanied by evidence satisfactory to the Board\n\nthat the applicant has completed relevant professional or continued\n\neducational experience during the previous twenty-four (24) months.\n\nFailure to renew a license shall result in forfeiture of the rights\n\nand privileges granted by the license. A person whose license has\n\nexpired may make application within one (1) year following the\n\nexpiration in writing to the Board requesting reinstatement in a\n\nmanner prescribed by the Board and payment of the fees required by\n\nthe provisions of the Licensed Professional Counselors Act. The\n\nlicense of a person whose license has expired for more than one (1)\n\nyear shall not be reinstated. A person may reapply for a new\n\nlicense as provided in Section 1906 of this title.\n\nC. A licensed professional counselor whose license is current\n\nand in good standing, who wishes to retire the license, may do so by\n\ninforming the Board in writing and returning the license to the\n\nOffice of Licensed Professional Counselors.
