Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1931","heading":"Definitions","body":"For the purpose of the Licensed Behavioral Practitioner Act:\n\n1. \"Behavioral health services\" means the application of the\n\nscientific components of psychological and mental health principles\n\nin order to:\n\na. facilitate human development and adjustment throughout\n\nthe life span,\n\nb. prevent, diagnose, or treat mental, emotional, or\n\nbehavioral disorders or associated distress which\n\ninterfere with mental health,\n\nc. conduct assessments or diagnoses for the purpose of\n\nestablishing treatment goals and objectives, and\n\nd. plan, implement, or evaluate treatment plans using\n\nbehavioral treatment interventions;\n\n2. \"Behavioral treatment interventions\" means the application\n\nof empirically validated treatment modalities, including, but not\n\nlimited to, operant and classical conditioning techniques,\n\nadherence/compliance methods, habit reversal procedures, cognitive\n\nbehavior therapy, biofeedback procedures and parent training. Such\n\ninterventions are specifically implemented in the context of a\n\nprofessional therapeutic relationship;\n\n3. \"Board\" means the State Board of Behavioral Health\n\nLicensure;\n\n4. \"Consulting\" means interpreting or reporting scientific fact\n\nor theory in behavioral health to provide assistance in solving\n\ncurrent or potential problems of individuals, groups, or\n\norganizations;\n\n5. \"Licensed behavioral practitioner\" or \"LBP\" means any person\n\nwho offers professional behavioral health services to any person and\n\nis licensed pursuant to the provisions of the Licensed Behavioral\n\nPractitioner Act. The term shall not include those professions\n\nexempted by Section 1932 of this title;\n\n6. \"Licensed behavioral practitioner candidate\" means a person\n\nwhose application for licensure has been accepted and who is under\n\nsupervision for licensure as provided in Section 1935 of this title;\n\n7. \"Referral activities\" means the evaluating of data to\n\nidentify problems and to determine the advisability of referral to\n\nother specialists;\n\n8. \"Research activities\" means reporting, designing,\n\nconducting, or consulting on research in behavioral health services;\n\n9. \"Specialty\" means the designation of a subarea of behavioral\n\npractice that is recognized by a national certification agency or by\n\nthe Board;\n\n10. \"Supervisor\" means a person who meets the requirements\n\nestablished by the Board; and\n\n11. \"Executive Director\" means the Executive Director of the\n\nState Board of Behavioral Health Licensure.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"5b41ec7f30b87d99eeab747cf9527ce1c168ecb676306ad3b8f5933a959d754d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1930","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1932"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
