Each person training as an apprentice shall be required to\n\nhave the same qualifications as a student for admission into a\n\ncosmetology or barber school, and shall be registered with the State\n\nBoard of Cosmetology and Barbering before commencing the training.\n\nB. No apprentice shall engage in any of the practices of\n\ncosmetology or barbering except under the immediate supervision of a\n\nlicensed instructor in a cosmetology or barber establishment\n\napproved by the Board for apprentice training.\n\nC. All apprentices shall wear a badge which designates them as\n\nan apprentice and is furnished by the Board with the apprentice\n\nregistration receipt.\n\nD. Only two apprentices may be registered to receive training\n\nin any cosmetology or barber establishment at any one time. An\n\napprentice registered to receive training in any cosmetology or\n\nbarber establishment may receive compensation during his or her\n\ntraining.\n\nE. Completion of two thousand two hundred fifty (2,250) hours\n\nof apprentice training in a cosmetology or barber establishment is\n\nthe equivalent of one thousand two hundred fifty (1,250) hours’\n\ntraining in a cosmetology or barber school and shall entitle the\n\napprentice to take the examination.\n\nF. The required curriculum for apprenticeships shall be created\n\nby an organization approved by the Board for each discipline.\n\nPractical and theory-related benchmarks shall be administered by\n\neither a master barber or master cosmetologist at the end of each\n\nchapter/unit of the curriculum.
