The applicant, except where otherwise defined in the\n\nRespiratory Care Practice Act, shall be required to pass an\n\nexamination, whereupon the State Board of Medical Licensure and\n\nSupervision may issue to the applicant a license to practice\n\nrespiratory care. The Board is authorized to provide for the\n\nexamination of applicants or to facilitate verification of any\n\napplicant's claim that the applicant has successfully completed the\n\nrequired examination for national credentialing as a respiratory\n\ncare practitioner.\n\nB. The Board may issue a license to practice respiratory care\n\nby endorsement to:\n\n1. An applicant who is currently licensed to practice\n\nrespiratory care under the laws of another state, territory or\n\ncountry if the qualifications of the applicant are deemed by the\n\nBoard to be equivalent to those required in this state;\n\n2. Applicants holding credentials as a respiratory therapist\n\nconferred by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or its\n\nsuccessor organization as identified by the Respiratory Care\n\nAdvisory Committee and approved by the State Board of Medical\n\nLicensure and Supervision, provided such credentials have not been\n\nsuspended or revoked; and\n\n3.
