Except as otherwise provided in the Respiratory Care\n\nPractice Act, a license shall be renewed biennially. The State\n\nBoard of Medical Licensure and Supervision shall mail notices at\n\nleast thirty (30) calendar days prior to expiration for renewal of\n\nlicenses to every person to whom a license was issued or renewed\n\nduring the preceding renewal period. The licensee shall complete\n\nthe notice of renewal and return it to the Board with the renewal\n\nfee of Seventy-five Dollars ($75.00) before the date of expiration.\n\nB. Upon receipt of the notice of renewal and the fee, the Board\n\nshall verify its contents and shall issue the licensee a license for\n\nthe current renewal period, which shall be valid for the period\n\nstated thereon.\n\nC. A licensee who allows the license to lapse by failing to\n\nrenew it may be reinstated by the Board upon payment of the renewal\n\nfee and reinstatement fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00);\n\nprovided, that such request for reinstatement is received within\n\nthirty (30) days of the end of the renewal period.\n\nD. 1. A licensed respiratory care practitioner who does not\n\nintend to engage in the practice of respiratory care shall send a\n\nwritten notice to that effect to the Board and is not required to\n\nsubmit a notice of renewal and pay the renewal fee as long as the\n\npractitioner remains inactive. Upon desiring to resume the practice\n\nof respiratory care, the practitioner shall notify the Board in\n\nwriting of this intent and shall satisfy the current requirements of\n\nthe Board in addition to submitting a notice of renewal and\n\nremitting the renewal fee for the current renewal period and the\n\nreinstatement fee.\n\n2. Rules of the Board shall provide for a specific period of\n\ntime of continuous inactivity after which retesting is required.\n\nE. The Board is authorized to establish by rule fees for\n\nreplacement and duplicate licenses.\n\nF. The Board shall by rule prescribe continuing education\n\nrequirements, not to exceed twelve (12) clock hours biennially, as a\n\ncondition for renewal of license.
