There is hereby re-created until July 1, 2027, in accordance\n\nwith the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, the State Board of\n\nExaminers of Perfusionists. The Board shall administer the\n\nprovisions of the Oklahoma Licensed Perfusionists Act. The Board\n\nshall consist of nine (9) members, appointed by the State Board of\n\nMedical Licensure and Supervision.\n\nB. The initial appointments for each member shall be for\n\nprogressive terms of one (1) through three (3) years so that only\n\none term expires each calendar year; subsequent appointments shall\n\nbe for five-year terms. Members of the Board shall serve at the\n\npleasure of and may be removed from office by the appointing\n\nauthority. No member shall serve more than three consecutive terms.\n\nMembers shall continue to serve until their successors are\n\nappointed. Any vacancy shall be filled in the same manner as the\n\noriginal appointments. Five members shall constitute a quorum.\n\nC. The Board shall be composed as follows:\n\n1. Three members shall be members of the general public;\n\n2. Four members shall be licensed perfusionists appointed from\n\na list of not less than ten licensed perfusionists submitted by a\n\nstatewide organization representing licensed perfusionists; and\n\n3. Two members shall be physicians licensed pursuant to the\n\nOklahoma Allopathic Medical and Surgical Licensure and Supervision\n\nAct and who are also board certified in cardiovascular surgery.\n\nD. The licensed perfusionist members shall have been engaged in\n\nrendering perfusion services to the public, teaching perfusion care,\n\nor research in perfusion care, for at least five (5) years\n\nimmediately preceding their appointments. These members shall at\n\nall times be holders of valid licenses for the practice of perfusion\n\nin this state, except for the members first appointed to the Board.\n\nThese initial members shall, at the time of appointment, be\n\ncredentialed as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) conferred by\n\nthe American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or its\n\nsuccessor organization, and all shall fulfill the requirements for\n\nlicensure pursuant to the Oklahoma Licensed Perfusionists Act. All\n\nmembers of the Board shall be residents of this state.\n\nE. Upon expiration or vacancy of the term of a member, the\n\nrespective nominating authority may, as appropriate, submit to the\n\nappointing authority a list of not less than three persons qualified\n\nto serve on the Board to fill the expired term of their respective\n\nmember. Appointments may be made from these lists by the appointing\n\nauthority and additional lists may be provided by the respective\n\norganizations if requested by the appointing authority.\n\nF. It shall be a ground for removal from the Board if a member:\n\n1. Does not have at the time of appointment the qualifications\n\nrequired for appointment to the Board;\n\n2. Does not maintain during service on the Board the\n\nqualifications required for appointment to the Board;\n\n3. Violates a prohibition established pursuant to the Oklahoma\n\nLicensed Perfusionists Act;\n\n4. Cannot discharge the member’s term for a substantial part of\n\nthe term for which the member is appointed because of illness or\n\ndisability; or\n\n5.
