Stat. tit. 59, § 59-2302","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Licensed Pedorthists Act:\n\n1. \"Accommodative device\" means a device designed with a\n\nprimary goal of conforming to the individual's anatomy;\n\n2. \"Board\" means the State Board of Medical Licensure and\n\nSupervision;\n\n3. \"Certified Pedorthist (C. Ped.)” means a professional whose\n\ncompetence in the practice of pedorthics is attested to by issuance\n\nof a credential by the Board for Certification in Pedorthics;\n\n4. \"Committee\" means the Advisory Committee on Pedorthics\n\ncreated by Section 5 of this act;\n\n5. \"Department\" means the State Department of Health;\n\n6. \"Licensed Pedorthist\" means a person who is licensed as\n\nrequired by the Oklahoma Licensed Pedorthists Act, who regularly\n\npractices pedorthics, and who is therefore entitled to represent\n\nhimself or herself to the public by a title or description of\n\nservices that includes the term \"pedorthist\";\n\n7. \"Pedorthic devices\" means therapeutic shoes, shoe\n\nmodifications made for therapeutic purposes, partial foot\n\nprostheses, and custom made orthoses, inserts, inlays or variants\n\nthereof for use from the ankle and below, but does not include\n\nnontherapeutic accommodative inlays or nontherapeutic accommodative\n\nfootwear, regardless of method of manufacture, unmodified over-the-\n\ncounter shoes, or prefabricated foot care products;\n\n8. \"Practice of pedorthics\" means the practice, pursuant to a\n\nwritten prescription from a physician when addressing a medical\n\ncondition, of evaluating, planning treatment, measuring, designing,\n\nfabricating, assembling, fitting, adjusting, managing of the\n\npatient, or servicing necessary to accomplish the application of a\n\npedorthic device for the prevention or amelioration of painful\n\nand/or disabling conditions of the foot and ankle; and\n\n9. \"Therapeutic device\" means a device that addresses a medical\n\ncondition.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"570674e8aac1b1b35b314f15a2e102b6a333ffc4d5ab5e13e6ef29d25cd48053","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-2301","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-2303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
