Initial inspections shall be conducted by the Commissioner\n\nor his or her designee. It shall be the responsibility of the\n\nowners of all new and existing conveyances located in any building\n\nor structure to have the conveyances inspected annually (ASME A17.1,\n\ncategory one) by a licensed elevator inspector. Subsequent to\n\ninspection, the licensed elevator inspector shall supply the\n\nproperty owner or lessee and the Commissioner with a written\n\ninspection report describing any and all violations. Property\n\nowners shall have thirty (30) days from the date of the published\n\ninspection report, or a reasonable period of time as determined by\n\nthe Commissioner beyond the 30-day period, to be in full compliance\n\nwith correcting the violations.\n\nB. It shall be the responsibility of the owners of conveyances\n\nto have a licensed elevator inspector, as described in this chapter,\n\nensure that the required tests are performed at intervals in\n\ncompliance with ASME A17.1, ASME A18.1 and ASCE 21.\n\nC.
