Stat. tit. 59, § 59-328.62","heading":"Definitions - Mediation committee - Powers","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Dental Mediation Act:\n\n1. \"Board\" means the Board of Dentistry;\n\n2. \"Dentist\" means a person who has been licensed by the Board\n\nto practice dentistry, as defined in Section 328.19 of this title;\n\nand\n\n3. \"Mediation committee\" means a committee of persons duly\n\nconstituted of or appointed by a statewide organization representing\n\ndentists. The Committee shall consist of two (2) members of a\n\nstatewide organization representing dentists and one former member\n\nof the Board not presently serving. The mediation committee is\n\nauthorized, upon receiving a written request for a review, to\n\nconduct a review of the complaints or requests for review of\n\npersons, the treatment performed by a dentist and, where\n\nappropriate, hold hearings and conduct personal examinations of\n\ndental treatment of patients. The mediation committee may, but\n\nshall not be obligated to:\n\na. evaluate the quality of health care services provided\n\nby the dentist being reviewed,\n\nb. determine whether health care services rendered were\n\nprofessionally indicated or were performed in\n\ncompliance with the applicable standards of care,\n\nc. evaluate the quality and timeliness of health care\n\nservices rendered by a dentist for a patient, and\n\nd. recommend to the parties, a method of settlement, for\n\ntheir acceptance or rejection.\n\nAny decision by the mediation committee not to review a matter shall\n\nbe communicated by the committee to the affected persons within\n\nthirty (30) days after the committee has received the material\n\nsubmitted pursuant to Section 328.65 of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"258b7c8eb42b95393125b338c30ea6c82b10ac1e4c41cf9dffd9b6808c6a5030","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-328.61","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-328.63"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
