A pharmacy may maintain drugs in an emergency medication kit\n\nfor dispensation in a facility as provided by this section. The\n\npharmacy shall establish a policy and procedures governing the\n\nmaintenance and dispensation of such drugs in accordance with the\n\nprovisions of this section. The drugs may be used only for the\n\nemergency medication needs of a resident at the facility. The\n\npharmacy shall maintain the drugs in the emergency medication kit\n\nfor the facility.\n\nB. The pharmacy may establish a pharmacy designee at the\n\nfacility who shall be responsible for transmitting required\n\ninformation for dispensation of controlled dangerous substances to\n\nthe central repository of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and\n\nDangerous Drugs Control as provided by the Anti-Drug Diversion Act.\n\nC. The pharmacy shall register the emergency medication kit as\n\na pharmacy location with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and\n\nDangerous Drugs Control and shall comply with the requirements for\n\ncontrolled dangerous substances prescribed by rules of the Oklahoma\n\nState Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control Commission.\n\nD. The State Board of Pharmacy shall promulgate rules relating\n\nto emergency medication kits including, but not limited to:\n\n1. The amount and type of drugs that may be maintained in an\n\nemergency medication kit. The total volume of each controlled\n\ndangerous substance shall be limited to the lesser of three doses\n\nper licensed bed or sixty individual doses. Controlled dangerous\n\nsubstances stored in emergency medication kits must be dispensed\n\npursuant to a valid prescription and shall be reported to the\n\nregistered pharmacy;\n\n2. Procedures regarding the use of drugs from an emergency\n\nmedication kit;\n\n3. Recordkeeping requirements; and\n\n4. Security requirements.\n\nE.
