In addition to any other power, duty or function authorized\n\nfor institutions of higher education or career and technology\n\ncenters, each governing board shall adopt, not later than January 1,\n\n2013, a policy authorizing the institution or career and technology\n\ncenter under the board’s supervision and management to award\n\neducational credits to a student enrolled in the institution or\n\ncareer and technology center who is also honorably discharged from\n\nthe Armed Forces of the United States within three (3) years of\n\ninitial enrollment, for courses that are part of the student’s\n\nmilitary training or service and that meet the standards of the\n\nAmerican Council on Education (ACE) or equivalent standards for\n\nawarding academic credit if the award of educational credit is based\n\nupon the institution’s or technical career center’s admission\n\nstandards and its role, scope and mission.\n\nB.
