The State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering may license an\n\napplicant, provided that the applicant possesses a valid license or\n\nregistration to practice massage therapy issued by the appropriate\n\nexamining board under the laws of any other state or territory of\n\nthe United States, the District of Columbia or any foreign nation\n\nand has met educational and examination requirements equal to or\n\nexceeding those established pursuant to the Massage Therapy Practice\n\nAct.\n\nB. 1. Massage therapy licenses shall expire biennially.\n\nExpiration dates shall be established by the Board through adoption\n\nof a rule.\n\n2. A license shall be renewed by submitting a renewal\n\napplication on a form provided by the Board.\n\n3. A thirty-day grace period shall be allowed each license\n\nholder after the end of the renewal period, during which time a\n\nlicense may be renewed upon payment of the renewal fee and a late\n\nfee as prescribed by the Board.\n\nC. 1. If a massage therapy license is not renewed by the end\n\nof the thirty-day grace period, the license shall be placed on\n\ninactive status for a period not to exceed one (1) year. At the end\n\nof one (1) year, if the license has not been reactivated, it shall\n\nautomatically expire.\n\n2. If within a period of one (1) year from the date the license\n\nwas placed on inactive status the massage therapist wishes to resume\n\npractice, the massage therapist shall notify the Board in writing\n\nand, upon receipt of proof of completion of all continuing education\n\nrequirements and payment of an amount set by the Board in lieu of\n\nall lapsed renewal fees, the license shall be restored in full.\n\nD. The Board shall establish a schedule of reasonable and\n\nnecessary administrative fees.\n\nE.
