Stat. tit. 59, § 59-46.31","heading":"Examination of landscape architects - License","body":"certificate - Issuance of license without examination.\n\nA. Except as otherwise provided in the State Architectural and\n\nLicensed Interior Designers Act, no license shall be issued to any\n\nperson to practice landscape architecture in this state unless the\n\nperson:\n\n1. Is twenty-one (21) years of age or older;\n\n2. Holds a degree from an accredited landscape architecture\n\nprogram and has such practical training as this act and the Board's\n\nrules deem appropriate;\n\n3. Has passed the examinations prescribed by the Board\n\nincluding the Oklahoma Plant Materials Exam; and\n\n4. Has paid all applicable fees.\n\nB. If the Board determines the interest of the public will be\n\nserved and the person is deemed by the Board to be qualified and\n\ncompetent by equivalent standards as the Board sets by rule or in\n\ncompliance with the Military Service Occupation, Education and\n\nCredentialing Act, the application shall be approved by the Board\n\nafter the person has fulfilled all requirements of this act and\n\nrules of the Board.\n\nC. Examinations may be administered by an electronic method and\n\nshall be held not less than once each year. Notices of the time and\n\nplace for the holding of examinations shall be given in the manner\n\nand form as prescribed by the Board. All landscape architects are\n\nrequired to take and pass the Oklahoma Plant Materials Exam.\n\nD. The Board shall establish rules for examination of landscape\n\narchitects and may elect to follow the recommendations of the\n\nCouncil of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) or\n\nits successor. The examination shall be designed to determine the\n\nqualifications of the applicant to practice landscape architecture.\n\nThe examination shall cover such technical, professional and\n\npractical subjects as relate to the practice of the profession of\n\nlandscape architecture. The examination shall also cover the basic\n\narts and sciences and knowledge of material which is necessary to\n\nthe proper understanding, application and qualification for practice\n\nof the profession of landscape architecture. The minimum passing\n\ngrade in all subjects of the examination shall be as established by\n\nthe Board. An applicant receiving a passing grade on a subject\n\nincluded in the examination will be given credit, subject to CLARB's\n\nprovisions and subject to the rules of the Board. Applicants for\n\nreadmittance to the examination shall pay the application fee.\n\nUpon passage of the examination, completion of the Board's\n\nrequirements as prescribed by this act and rules, and the payment of\n\nall applicable fees prescribed by the rules of the Board, the Board\n\nshall issue to the applicant a license which shall authorize the\n\nperson to engage in the practice of landscape architecture in this\n\nstate.\n\nE. Pursuant to such rules as it may have adopted, the Board\n\nshall have the power to issue licenses without requiring an\n\nexamination to persons who have been licensed to practice landscape\n\narchitecture in states other than the State of Oklahoma, in a\n\nterritory of the United States, in the District of Columbia, or in a\n\ncountry other than the United States provided that the state,\n\nterritory, district or country has a similar reciprocal provision to\n\nauthorize the issuance of licenses to persons who have been licensed\n\nin this state. If a person who has been licensed in a state other\n\nthan the State of Oklahoma, in a territory of the United States, in\n\nthe District of Columbia, or in a country other than the United\n\nStates complies with this act and rules of the Board, the secretary-\n\ntreasurer, in the exercise of his or her discretion, or upon the\n\norder of the Board and upon the receipt of all applicable fees\n\nprescribed by the Board, shall issue to the person a license to\n\npractice landscape architecture in this state.\n\nF. The Board has the authority to issue temporary licenses\n\nwhile qualifying the applicant in compliance with Section 4100 et\ns of the Board, the secretary-\n\ntreasurer, in the exercise of his or her discretion, or upon the\n\norder of the Board and upon the receipt of all applicable fees\n\nprescribed by the Board, shall issue to the person a license to\n\npractice landscape architecture in this state.\n\nF. The Board has the authority to issue temporary licenses\n\nwhile qualifying the applicant in compliance with Section 4100 et\n\nseq. of this title or with any declared state of emergency.\n\nG. The following shall govern design competitions in the state:\n\n1. Nothing in this act shall prohibit a person or firm from\n\nparticipating in a landscape architectural design competition\n\ninvolving only programming, planning, schematic design or design\n\ndevelopment information provided to a sponsor; and\n\n2.
