Stat. tit. 59, § 59-46.4v2","heading":"Board of Governors of the Licensed Architects,","body":"Landscape Architects and Licensed Interior Designers of Oklahoma.\n\nThere is hereby re-created, to continue until July 1, 2026, in\n\naccordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, a board\n\nto be known as the \"Board of Governors of the Architects, Landscape\n\nArchitects and Licensed Interior Designers of Oklahoma\", hereinafter\n\nreferred to as the Board. The Board shall be composed of eleven\n\n(11) members including six persons who are duly licensed to practice\n\narchitecture and are in good standing in this state, two persons who\n\nare duly licensed to practice landscape architecture and are in good\n\nstanding in this state, two persons who are duly licensed interior\n\ndesigners and who are active and in good standing and one lay\n\nmember. Each member of the Board shall be a qualified elector of\n\nthis state, and the architect, landscape architect and licensed\n\ninterior designer members shall have had five (5) years' licensing\n\nexperience as the professional position requires in this state. Re-\n\ncreation of the Board shall not alter existing staggered terms.\n\nBoard members, other than the lay member, shall be appointed for a\n\nperiod of five (5) years thereafter; provided, that nothing herein\n\nshall affect the tenure of office of anyone who is a member of the\n\nBoard on May 31, 1957. A member may be reappointed to succeed such\n\nmembership. The architect, landscape architect or the licensed\n\ninterior designer members may be appointed by the Governor from a\n\nlist of nominees submitted by respective professional societies of\n\nthis state. Membership in a professional society shall not be a\n\nprerequisite to appointment to the Board. The lay member of the\n\nBoard shall be appointed by the Governor to a term coterminous with\n\nthat of the Governor. The lay member shall serve at the pleasure of\n\nthe Governor. Provided, the lay member may continue to serve after\n\nthe expiration of the term of the member until such time as a\n\nsuccessor is appointed. Vacancies which may occur in the membership\n\nof the Board shall be filled by appointment by the Governor. Each\n\nperson who has been appointed to fill a vacancy shall serve for the\n\nremainder of the term for which the member the person shall succeed\n\nwas appointed and until a successor, in turn, has been appointed and\n\nshall have qualified. Each member of the Board, before entering\n\nupon the discharge of the duties of the member, shall make and file\n\nwith the Secretary of State a written oath or affirmation for the\n\nfaithful discharge of official duties.
