The Board shall issue to any applicant who, in the opinion\n\nof the Board, has met the requirements of this act, a license giving\n\nthe licensee proper authority to practice in this state. The\n\nlicense for a professional engineer shall carry the designation\n\n\"Professional Engineer\", for a professional structural engineer\n\nshall carry the designation \"Professional Structural Engineer\", and\n\nfor a professional surveyor, \"Professional Surveyor\". It shall give\n\nthe full name of the licensee with the license number of the\n\nlicensee and shall be signed by the Chair and the Secretary under\n\nthe seal of the Board.\n\nB. This license shall be prima facie evidence that the person\n\nnamed thereon is entitled to all rights, privileges and\n\nresponsibilities of a professional engineer, professional structural\n\nengineer, or professional surveyor, while the license remains active\n\nand in good standing.\n\nC. Each licensee hereunder may obtain a seal, the design and\n\nuse of which are described in Board rules. It shall be unlawful for\n\na licensee to affix, or permit his or her seal or signature to be\n\naffixed, to any document after the expiration or revocation of a\n\nlicense, or for the purpose of aiding or abetting any other person\n\nto evade or attempt to evade any provision of this act. Whenever\n\nthe seal is applied, the document must be signed by the licensee\n\nthereby certifying that he or she is competent in the subject matter\n\nand was in responsible charge of the work product. Documents must\n\nbe sealed and signed in accordance with the Board rules whenever\n\npresented to a client, a user or any public or governmental agency.\n\nWhenever the seal is applied, the signature of the licensee and date\n\nof signature shall be placed adjacent to or across the seal.\n\nDrawings, reports or documents that are signed using a digital or\n\nelectronic signature must be done in a manner that is in direct\n\ncontrol and personal supervision of the professional and must\n\nconform to the specifications in the Board rules regarding digital\n\nor electronic signatures.\n\nD. A professional or firm shall retain a hard copy or\n\nelectronic copy of all technical submissions produced for a minimum\n\nof ten (10) years following the date of preparation.\n\nE. The Board shall issue to any applicant who, in the opinion\n\nof the Board, has met the requirements of this act, a certificate as\n\nan engineer intern or surveyor intern which indicates that his or\n\nher name has been recorded as such in the Board office.
