A State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision\n\nhereinafter referred to as the “Board”, is hereby re-created, to\n\ncontinue until July 1, 2024, in accordance with the provisions of\n\nthe Oklahoma Sunset Law. The Board shall be composed of seven (7)\n\nallopathic physicians licensed to practice medicine in this state\n\nand represent the public and four (4) lay members.\n\nB. The physician members of the Board shall be graduates of\n\nlegally chartered medical schools recognized by the Oklahoma State\n\nRegents for Higher Education or the Liaison Committee on Medical\n\nEducation or foreign medical schools recognized by the State Board\n\nof Medical Licensure and Supervision. The physician members shall:\n\n1. Be currently licensed physicians who have actively practiced\n\nas licensed physicians continuously in this state for the three (3)\n\nyears immediately preceding their appointment to the Board; or\n\n2. Be retired physicians; provided, that such physicians must\n\ndemonstrate satisfactorily to the Board that since retirement they\n\nhave remained in compliance with, and are currently in compliance\n\nwith, continuing medical education requirements of the Board.\n\nC. All members of the Board shall be residents of this state\n\nand shall be appointed by the Governor as provided for in Section\n\n482 of this title.
