Foreign applicants shall meet all requirements for licensure\n\nas provided in Sections 492.1 and 493.1 of this title.\n\nB. 1. A foreign applicant shall possess the degree of Doctor\n\nof Medicine or an equivalent approved by the State Board of Medical\n\nLicensure and Supervision based on satisfactory completion of\n\neducational programs from a foreign medical school as evidenced by\n\nrecognized national and international resources available to the\n\nBoard.\n\n2. In the event the foreign medical school utilized clerkships\n\nin the United States, its territories, or possessions, such\n\nclerkships shall have been performed in hospitals and schools that\n\nhave programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate\n\nMedical Education (ACGME).\n\nC. A foreign applicant shall have a command of the English\n\nlanguage that is satisfactory to the State Board of Medical\n\nLicensure and Supervision, demonstrated by certification by the\n\nEducational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).\n\nD. The Board may promulgate rules requiring all foreign\n\napplicants to satisfactorily complete at least twelve (12) months\n\nand up to twenty-four (24) months of Board-approved progressive\n\ngraduate medical training as determined necessary by the Board for\n\nthe protection of the public health, safety, and welfare.\n\nE. All credentials, diplomas, and other required documentation\n\nin a foreign language submitted to the Board by such applicants\n\nshall be accompanied by notarized English translations.\n\nF. Foreign applicants shall provide satisfactory evidence of\n\nhaving met the requirements for permanent residence or temporary\n\nnonimmigrant status as set forth by the United States Department of\n\nHomeland Security.\n\nG. Foreign applicants shall provide a certified copy of the\n\nEducational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)\n\nCertificate or the Medical Council of Canada Certificate of\n\nRegistration to the Board at such time and in such manner as\n\nrequired by the Board.
