To be eligible for licensure as a therapeutic recreation\n\nspecialist pursuant to the provisions of the Therapeutic Recreation\n\nPractice Act, an applicant shall:\n\n1. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age;\n\n2. Have successfully completed an academic program with a\n\nbaccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college or\n\nuniversity with a major in therapeutic recreation or a major in\n\nrecreation or leisure with an option and/or emphasis in therapeutic\n\nrecreation;\n\n3. Have successfully completed a period of field experience\n\nunder the supervision of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation\n\nSpecialist (CTRS) or a licensed therapeutic specialist approved by\n\nthe educational institution where the applicant has met his or her\n\nacademic requirements; and\n\n4. Have successfully completed the proctored examination\n\napproved by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.\n\nB. The State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision may,\n\nupon notice and opportunity for a hearing, deny an application for\n\nreinstatement of a license or reinstate the license with conditions.\n\nConditions imposed may include a requirement for continuing\n\neducation, practice under the supervision of a licensed therapeutic\n\nrecreation specialist, or any other conditions deemed appropriate by\n\nthe Board.\n\nC.
