Stat. tit. 59, § 59-567.11","heading":"Exceptions to application of act","body":"The Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act shall not be construed to\n\naffect or apply to:\n\n1. Gratuitous nursing of the sick by friends or members of the\n\nfamily;\n\n2. Any nurse who has an active, unencumbered license in another\n\nstate or territory who is physically present in this state on a\n\nnonroutine, nonregular basis for a period not to exceed seven (7)\n\nconsecutive days in any given year;\n\n3. The practice of nursing which is associated with a program\n\nof study by students enrolled in nursing education programs approved\n\nby the Board;\n\n4. Persons trained and competency-certified to provide care\n\npursuant to state or federal law, rules or regulations;\n\n5. The practice of any legally qualified nurse of another state\n\nwho is employed by the United States Government or any bureau,\n\ndivision or agency thereof, while in the discharge of his or her\n\nofficial duties;\n\n6. The rendering of service by a physician's trained assistant\n\nunder the direct supervision and control of a licensed physician,\n\nall as authorized by Section 492 of this title;\n\n7. The practice of nursing in connection with healing by prayer\n\nor spiritual means alone in accordance with the tenets and practice\n\nof any well-recognized church or religious denomination provided\n\nthat no person practicing such nursing holds himself out to be a\n\ngraduate or registered nurse or licensed practical nurse; or\n\n8. A nurse who has an active, unencumbered license from another\n\nstate or territory, who has no health-related license in a\n\ndisciplinary status, and who is relocating to this state pursuant to\n\na spouse's official military orders; provided, that this exemption\n\nfrom this act shall continue for one hundred twenty (120) days after\n\nthe nurse has submitted an application and fees for licensure to the\n\nBoard prior to employment in this state and has furnished to the\n\nemployer satisfactory evidence of current, unencumbered licensure in\n\nanother state or territory.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"4edfeacb65ac1fd65d156d66aae30af79350d0df1833c5d5b95a296032dd0db8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-567.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-567.12"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
