An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse recognized by the\n\nOklahoma Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Practitioner,\n\nClinical Nurse Specialist, or Certified Nurse-Midwife who has\n\ncompleted a minimum of six thousand two hundred forty (6,240)\n\nclinical practice hours with prescriptive authority supervised by a\n\nphysician may apply to the Oklahoma Board of Nursing for authority\n\nto prescribe and order independent of supervision.\n\nB. The application for independent prescriptive authority shall\n\ninclude proof that the Certified Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse\n\nSpecialist, or Certified Nurse-Midwife:\n\n1. Holds a valid, current license in the appropriate Advanced\n\nPractice Registered Nurse role issued by the Board and is in good\n\nstanding with the Board; and\n\n2. Has completed a minimum of six thousand two hundred forty\n\n(6,240) clinical practice hours with prescriptive authority\n\nsupervised by a physician. This paragraph shall not be construed to\n\nexclude practice hours with supervised prescriptive authority\n\nobtained prior to the effective date of this act from being counted\n\ntoward the hours required in this paragraph.\n\nC. Independent prescriptive authority granted under this\n\nsection shall be valid until the expiration of the current license\n\nto practice and may be renewed upon application to the Board at the\n\nsame time and for the same period as the renewal of the license to\n\npractice.\n\nD. The Board may suspend or revoke independent prescriptive\n\nauthority granted under this section in accordance with the\n\nAdministrative Procedures Act for violation of the provisions of, or\n\nthe rules promulgated under, the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.\n\nE.
