Stat. tit. 59, § 59-567.5a","heading":"Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - License -","body":"Application.\n\nA. All applicants for a license to practice as an Advanced\n\nPractice Registered Nurse shall be subject to Section 567.8 of this\n\ntitle.\n\nB. An applicant for an initial license to practice as an\n\nAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse shall:\n\n1. Submit a completed written application and appropriate fees\n\nas established by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing;\n\n2. Submit a criminal history records check that complies with\n\nSection 567.18 of this title;\n\n3. Hold a current Registered Nurse license in this state;\n\n4. Have completed an advanced practice registered nursing\n\neducation program in one of the four Advanced Practice Registered\n\nNurse roles and a specialty area recognized by the Board. Effective\n\nJanuary 1, 2016, the applicant shall have completed an accredited\n\ngraduate level advanced practice registered nursing education\n\nprogram in at least one of the following population foci:\n\nfamily/individual across the lifespan, adult-gerontology, neonatal,\n\npediatrics, women’s health/gender-related, or psychiatric/mental\n\nhealth;\n\n5. Be currently certified in an advanced practice specialty\n\ncertification consistent with educational preparation and by a\n\nnational certifying body recognized by the Board; and\n\n6. Provide any and all other evidence as required by the Board\n\nin its rules.\n\nC. The Board may issue a license by endorsement to an Advanced\n\nPractice Registered Nurse licensed under the laws of another state\n\nif the applicant meets the qualifications for licensure in this\n\nstate. An applicant by endorsement shall:\n\n1. Submit a completed written application and appropriate fees\n\nas established by the Board;\n\n2. Submit a criminal history records check that complies with\n\nSection 567.18 of this title;\n\n3. Hold a current Registered Nurse license in this state;\n\n4. Hold recognition as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in\n\na state or territory;\n\n5. Have completed an advanced practice registered nursing\n\neducation program in one of the four roles and a specialty area\n\nrecognized by the Board. Effective January 1, 2016, the applicant\n\nshall have completed an accredited graduate level advanced practice\n\nregistered nursing education program in at least one of the\n\nfollowing population foci: family/individual across the lifespan,\n\nadult-gerontology, neonatal, pediatrics, women’s health/gender-\n\nrelated, or psychiatric/mental health;\n\n6. Be currently certified in an advanced practice specialty\n\ncertification consistent with educational preparation and by a\n\nnational certifying body recognized by the Board;\n\n7. Meet continued competency requirements as set forth in Board\n\nrules; and\n\n8. Provide any and all other evidence as required by the Board\n\nin its rules.\n\nD. The Board may issue prescriptive authority recognition by\n\nendorsement to an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensed as an\n\nAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse-Certified Nurse Practitioner\n\n(APRN-CNP), Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Clinical Nurse\n\nSpecialist (APRN-CNS), or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-\n\nCertified Nurse-Midwife (APRN-CNM) under the laws of another state\n\nif the applicant meets the requirements set forth in this section.\n\nAn applicant for prescriptive authority recognition by endorsement\n\nshall:\n\n1. Submit a completed written application and appropriate fees\n\nas established by the Board;\n\n2. Hold current Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice\n\nRegistered Nurse licenses (APRN-CNP, APRN-CNS, or APRN-CNM) in the\n\nstate;\n\n3. Hold current licensure or recognition as an Advanced\n\nPractice Registered Nurse in the same role and specialty with\n\nprescribing privileges in another state or territory;\n\n4. Submit documentation verifying successful completion of a\n\ngraduate-level advanced practice registered nursing education\n\nprogram that included an academic course in pharmacotherapeutic\n\nmanagement, and didactic and clinical preparation for prescribing\necognition as an Advanced\n\nPractice Registered Nurse in the same role and specialty with\n\nprescribing privileges in another state or territory;\n\n4. Submit documentation verifying successful completion of a\n\ngraduate-level advanced practice registered nursing education\n\nprogram that included an academic course in pharmacotherapeutic\n\nmanagement, and didactic and clinical preparation for prescribing\n\nincorporated throughout the program;\n\n5. Submit all supervision agreements entered into with\n\nsupervising physicians as required by Section 4 of this act, or\n\nsubmit documentation that the applicant meets the requirements for\n\nindependent prescriptive authority under Section 1 of this act;\n\n6. Meet continued competency requirements as set forth in Board\n\nrules; and\n\n7. Provide any and all other evidence as required by the Board\n\nin its rules.\n\nE. An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license issued under\n\nthis section shall be renewed concurrently with the Registered Nurse\n\nlicense, provided that qualifying criteria continue to be met.\n\nF.
