Stat. tit. 59, § 59-582","heading":"Board of Examiners in Optometry - Re-creation - Vacancies","body":"- Qualifications - Term of members.\n\nThere is hereby re-created, to continue until July 1, 2026, in\n\naccordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, the Board\n\nof Examiners in Optometry. This Board shall consist of five (5)\n\npersons, four of whom shall possess sufficient knowledge of\n\ntheoretical and practical optics to practice optometry, be duly\n\nlicensed as optometrists, and who shall have been residents of this\n\nstate actually engaged in the practice of optometry for at least\n\nfive (5) years. The term of each licensed optometrist member of the\n\nBoard, one being appointed each year, shall be five (5) years, or\n\nuntil a qualified successor is appointed. The lay member of the\n\nBoard shall serve a term coterminous with that of the Governor and\n\nshall serve at the pleasure of the Governor. The Governor is hereby\n\nauthorized to appoint a member of the Board of Examiners in\n\nOptometry at the expiration of any term or whenever, for any reason,\n\na vacancy may occur on the Board.
