Stat. tit. 59, § 59-604","heading":"Attendance on educational or postgraduate program","body":"Every person holding a license to practice optometry in this\n\nstate shall be required to present to the Board of Examiners in\n\nOptometry, not later than the thirtieth day of June of each year,\n\nsatisfactory evidence that during the preceding twelve (12) months\n\nthe person attended not less than two (2) days of a total of at\n\nleast twelve (12) hours of educational or postgraduate programs\n\napproved by the Board, or that the person was prevented, because of\n\nsickness or any other reason acceptable to the Board, from attending\n\nthe educational or postgraduate program. Such education shall\n\ninclude not less than one (1) hour of education in pain management\n\nor one (1) hour of education in opioid use or addiction, unless the\n\nperson has demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Board that the\n\nperson does not currently hold a valid federal Drug Enforcement\n\nAdministration registration number.\n\nThe filing of proof of attendance at educational programs or\n\nclinics shall be a condition precedent to the issuance of a renewal\n\nlicense.
