Stat. tit. 59, § 59-628.1","heading":"Powers of Board","body":"The State Board of Osteopathic Examiners shall have the power\n\nto:\n\n1. Adopt and prescribe the use of a common seal;\n\n2. Hold regular meetings at times to be fixed by the president\n\nof the Board in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Open\n\nMeeting Act. In addition, the president may call such special and\n\nother meetings in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma\n\nOpen Meeting Act;\n\n3. Promulgate rules necessary, expedient, or appropriate to the\n\ngovernance, performance, enforcement, or carrying out of any of the\n\npurposes, objectives, or provisions of the Oklahoma Osteopathic\n\nMedicine Act or to promulgate rules regarding the professional\n\nstandards of the practice of osteopathic medicine;\n\n4. Initiate and prosecute administrative, civil, or criminal\n\nactions and proceedings necessary under the Oklahoma Osteopathic\n\nMedicine Act;\n\n5. Appoint authorized agents to make inspections or\n\ninvestigations and to perform other services for the Board;\n\n6. Sell, exchange, or dispose of property as provided by state\n\nlaw;\n\n7. Have jurisdiction over all matters affecting the practice of\n\nosteopathic medicine, and shall have continuing jurisdiction to\n\nreopen any actions taken by the Board;\n\n8. Institute collection proceedings against licensees,\n\napplicants, and other entities under its jurisdiction. This\n\nauthority includes the right to impose penalties for nonpayment;\n\n9. Employ, appoint, or contract and fix the duties and\n\ncompensation of the executive director and other personnel, either\n\non full-time, part-time, or contractual basis, as deemed necessary\n\nby the Board;\n\n10. Fix the qualifications of the personnel of the Board;\n\n11. Accept and use grants of money and other property from any\n\nsource;\n\n12. Advise, consult, cooperate, and enter into agreements or\n\ncontracts;\n\n13. Revoke, suspend, or deny any license, permit, or charter\n\nissued by the Board if the Board finds any violation of the Oklahoma\n\nOsteopathic Medicine Act or any rule promulgated by the Board;\n\n14. Prescribe forms of application, certification, licenses,\n\ncharters, permits, and other forms as may be necessary to carry out\n\nthe provisions of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Medicine Act;\n\n15. Set renewal dates for any licenses, permits, or\n\ncertificates issued by the Board by notifying licensees in writing\n\nof the expiration and renewal date being assigned to the licensee\n\nand permittee and by making an appropriate adjustment in the fee\n\ncharged for the license, permit, or certificate;\n\n16. Establish and collect fees for licenses, permits, charters,\n\ncertificates, and services provided. The fees shall be promulgated\n\nin accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act and shall be\n\nfair and equitable to all parties concerned;\n\n17. Adopt official professional standards of conduct;\n\n18. Apply to the district court for a temporary or permanent\n\ninjunction or any other remedy restraining any person from violating\n\nthe Oklahoma Osteopathic Medicine Act;\n\n19. Increase its efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of\n\npatients through administration of continuing education programs;\n\n20. Establish agency special accounts through the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services and the Office of the State\n\nTreasurer as necessary for the collection and distribution of funds,\n\nincluding funds of sponsors and registration fees related to\n\nconferences, meetings, and continuing education and resident\n\nphysician training; and\n\n21.
