Any applicant convicted of any crimes defined in Section\n\n13.1 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes shall not be eligible to\n\nobtain a real estate license within twenty (20) years of the\n\ncompletion of any criminal sentence, including parole and probation.\n\nB. Any applicant convicted of a felony crime that substantially\n\nrelates to the occupation of a real estate agent and poses a\n\nreasonable threat to public safety shall not be eligible to obtain a\n\nreal estate license within ten (10) years of the completion of any\n\ncriminal sentence, including parole and probation.\n\nC. For the purposes of this section, the term \"applicant\" shall\n\nmean any person making an application for original licensure as a\n\nprovisional sales associate, sales associate, broker associate, or\n\nbroker, and shall not apply to any licensee seeking renewal of a\n\ncurrent license.\n\nD. Any applicant with a felony conviction shall not\n\nautomatically receive a license after the timelines set forth in\n\nthis section, but may be licensed in accordance with the licensing\n\nprovisions set forth in the Oklahoma Real Estate License Code and\n\nRules.\n\nE. As used in this section:\n\n1. \"Substantially relates\" means the nature of criminal conduct\n\nfor which the person was convicted has a direct bearing on the\n\nfitness or ability to perform one or more of the duties or\n\nresponsibilities necessarily related to the occupation; and\n\n2. \"Poses a reasonable threat\" means the nature of criminal\n\nconduct for which the person was convicted involved an act or threat\n\nof harm against another and has a bearing on the fitness or ability\n\nto serve the public or work with others in the occupation.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"1095f9de0cb770f53719dcf5165b8526693644973b1353335e1c5f1fa24000ad","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-858-301","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-858-301.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
