No person shall practice occupational therapy or hold\n\nhimself or herself out as an occupational therapist, or as being\n\nable to practice occupational therapy, or to render occupational\n\ntherapy services in this state unless he or she is licensed in\n\naccordance with the provisions of this act. The licensing\n\nprovisions of this act shall not be applicable to a person who\n\nassists in the practice of occupational therapy as an occupational\n\ntherapy aide.\n\nB. The provisions of this act shall not be construed to\n\nauthorize occupational therapists or occupational therapy assistants\n\nto practice medicine and surgery within the meaning of Section 492\n\nof Title 59 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nC. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this act, a plan of\n\ncare developed by a person authorized to provide services within the\n\nscope of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act shall be deemed to be\n\na prescription for purposes of providing services pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act,\n\nAmendment of 1997, Public Law 105-17, and Section 504 of the\n\nRehabilitation Act of 1973.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"37ac594142f4151df6f1bb96f3812bf5931d2107f34fd546a0c38a5d3505f9d0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-888.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-888.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
