Stat. tit. 6, § 6-2002","heading":"Necessity of certificate - Application for certificate -","body":"Organization certificate and bylaws.\n\n(A) No credit union organized under the laws of this state or\n\nany other state shall be permitted to engage in business except on\n\ncertificate issued by the Bank Commissioner upon authority of the\n\nState Credit Union Board.\n\n(B) The request to establish a credit union under the laws of\n\nthis state shall be set forth in application form and filed with the\n\nBank Commissioner. The form of such application shall be prescribed\n\nby the State Credit Union Board and furnished by the Bank\n\nCommissioner and shall contain such information as the State Credit\n\nUnion Board may require. Any seven or more residents of this state\n\nwho desire to form a credit union under the laws of this state shall\n\nsubscribe before some person, competent to administer oath, an\n\norganization certificate in triplicate, which shall specifically\n\nstate: (1) the name of the credit union; (2) the location of the\n\nproposed credit union and the territory in which it will operate;\n\n(3) the purpose for which it is formed; (4) the term for which it is\n\nto exist, which may be perpetual or limited in term; (5) the number\n\nof its directors or trustees and the names and addresses of such of\n\nthem as shall serve until the election of directors or trustees; (6)\n\nthe par value of the shares, which shall not exceed One Hundred\n\nDollars ($100.00) each, and the authorized stock which shall not\n\nexceed the amount which it is contemplated to be provided for in its\n\ncertificate of incorporation.\n\n(C) With the application, applicants shall file a proposed\n\ncertificate of incorporation with the Bank Commissioner prepared in\n\naccordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma General Corporation\n\nAct.\n\n(D) In addition said applicants shall prepare and adopt bylaws\n\nconsistent with the provisions of this act and shall certify to the\n\nsame in triplicate. The bylaws of the credit union may provide for\n\nthe amendment of the certificate of incorporation of the credit\n\nunion upon a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the members of the board of\n\ndirectors and the approval of the State Credit Union Board.\n\n(E) The request of a credit union organized under the laws of a\n\nstate other than this state to do business in Oklahoma shall be made\n\nin accordance with the provisions of Section 6 of this act.","path":["OK Code","Title 6"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os6.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a013fc79270b9c643dc0d3a4126aa1e3029ca994afac5d782f58cbb116bd13d9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-6-6-2001.4","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-6-6-2003"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
