Stat. tit. 6, § 6-2102","heading":"Definitions","body":"Unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n1. \"Commissioner\" means the State Bank Commissioner;\n\n2. \"Check\" means any check, draft, money order, stored value\n\ninstrument or card, or other written instrument for the transmission\n\nor payment of money or credit, except that it does not mean money or\n\ncurrency of any nation, or instruments commonly known as travelers\n\nchecks which require that the same be signed by the person to whom\n\nsuch instruments are issued at the time of issue and at the time\n\nsuch instruments are cashed or exchanged for value by such person;\n\n3. \"Fiscal year\" means the period from July 1 through the next\n\nsucceeding June 30;\n\n4. \"Issuing\" means the act of drawing any instrument of\n\nexchange by a person who engages in the business of drawing such\n\ninstruments as a service or for a fee or other consideration;\n\n5. \"Licensee\" means any person licensed under this act;\n\n6. \"Money order\" means a bill of exchange issued at the request\n\nand for the use or benefit of a person other than the issuer and\n\nrepresenting an unconditional order or obligation in writing of the\n\nissuer to pay a sum certain in money on demand to order or to\n\nbearer;\n\n7. \"Net worth\" means excess of assets over liabilities as\n\ndetermined by accepted accounting practices; and\n\n8. \"Person\" means any individual, partnership, joint-stock\n\nassociation, trust, unincorporated association or corporation.","path":["OK Code","Title 6"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os6.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"0e4ee3c3b5b090e5f344e49d37f0a2f03dccda4ab38f59e8ca05c9c9abfa9f74","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-6-6-2101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-6-6-2103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
