Stat. tit. 6, § 6-2117","heading":"Power of subpoena - Designation of hearing officer","body":"(a) For the purposes of this act, the Commissioner or the\n\nhearing officer as hereinafter provided has power to require by\n\nsubpoena the attendance and testimony of witnesses, and the\n\nproduction of all documentary evidence relating to any matter under\n\nhearing pursuant to this act, and shall issue such subpoenas at the\n\nrequest of an interested party. The hearing officer may sign\n\nsubpoenas in the name of the Commissioner.\n\n(b) The Commissioner may, in his discretion, direct that any\n\nhearing pursuant to this act shall be held before a competent and\n\nqualified agent of the Commissioner, whom the Commissioner shall\n\ndesignate as the hearing officer in such matter. The Commissioner\n\nand the hearing officer are hereby empowered to, and shall,\n\nadminister oaths and affirmations to all witnesses appearing before\n\nthem. The hearing officer, upon the conclusion of the hearing\n\nbefore him, shall certify the evidence to the Commissioner.\n\n(c) Any district court of this state, within the jurisdiction of\n\nwhich such hearing is carried on, may, in case of contumacy, or\n\nrefusal of a witness to obey a subpoena, issue an order requiring\n\nsuch witness to appear before the Commissioner, or the hearing\n\nofficer, or to produce documentary evidence, or to give testimony\n\ntouching the matter in question, and the willful refusal and failure\n\nof any such witness to obey such order of the court shall constitute\n\ncontempt of court.","path":["OK Code","Title 6"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os6.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ab4631e7e24269ecad86be2ada660724460db33c396c3287c6e8f39249b2d959","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-6-6-2116","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-6-6-2118"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
