For purposes of more precisely defining the Oklahoma\n\nCoordinate System of 1927, the following definition by the United\n\nStates Coast and Geodetic Survey (now National Ocean\n\nService/National Geodetic Survey) is adopted:\n\n1. The \"Oklahoma Coordinate System of 1927 North Zone\", is a\n\nLambert conformal conic projection of the Clarke spheroid of 1866,\n\nhaving parallels at north latitudes 35 degrees 34 minutes and 36\n\ndegrees 46 minutes along which parallels the scale shall be exact.\n\nThe origin of coordinates is at the intersection of the meridian 98\n\ndegrees 00 minutes west of Greenwich and the parallel 35 degrees 00\n\nminutes north latitude. This origin is given the coordinates: x =\n\n2,000,000 feet and y = 0 feet.\n\n2. The \"Oklahoma Coordinate System of 1927 South Zone\", is a\n\nLambert conformal conic projection of the Clarke spheroid of 1866,\n\nhaving parallels at north latitudes 33 degrees 56 minutes and 35\n\ndegrees 14 minutes along which parallels the scale shall be exact.\n\nThe origin of coordinates is at the intersection of the meridian 98\n\ndegrees 00 minutes west of Greenwich and the parallel 33 degrees 20\n\nminutes north latitude. This origin is given the coordinates: x =\n\n2,000,000 feet and y = 0 feet.\n\nB. For purposes of more precisely defining the Oklahoma\n\nCoordinate System of 1983, the following definition by the National\n\nOcean Service/National Geodetic Survey is adopted:\n\n1. The \"Oklahoma Coordinate System of 1983 North Zone\" is a\n\nLambert conformal conic projection of the North American Datum of\n\n1983, having parallels at north latitudes 35 degrees 34 minutes and\n\n36 degrees 46 minutes along which parallels the scale shall be\n\nexact. The origin of coordinates is at the intersection of the\n\nmeridian 98 degrees 00 minutes west of Greenwich and the parallel 35\n\ndegrees 00 minutes north latitude. This origin is given the\n\ncoordinates: x = 600,000 meters and y = 0 meters.\n\n2. The \"Oklahoma Coordinate System of 1983 South Zone\" is a\n\nLambert conformal conic projection of the North American Datum of\n\n1983, having standard parallels at north latitudes 33 degrees 56\n\nminutes and 35 degrees 14 minutes along which parallels the scale\n\nshall be exact. The origin of coordinates is at the intersection of\n\nthe meridian 98 degrees 00 minutes west of Greenwich and the\n\nparallel 33 degrees 20 minutes north latitude. This origin is given\n\nthe coordinates: x = 600,000 meters and y = 0 meters.\n\nC. For purposes of more precisely defining the Oklahoma Plane\n\nCoordinate System (OKPCS), the Oklahoma Plane Coordinate System\n\nshall be the State Plane Coordinate System of 2022 (SPC2022) or its\n\nmost recent successor as defined by the National Geodetic Survey or\n\nits successor agency.","path":["OK Code","Title 60"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os60.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e6b5e4724a76a6c689e47d81883446f8444c2a0372c79fe05d4412c103395d05","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-1004","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-1007"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
