Stat. tit. 60, § 60-2001","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. \"Lender\" means a person whose name appears on the records of\n\nthe museum as the person legally entitled to property held or on\n\nloan to the museum;\n\n2. \"Lender's last-known address\" means a description of the\n\nphysical or mailing address of the lender, as shown on the museum's\n\nrecords pertaining to the property on loan from the lender, which is\n\nsufficient for the purpose of delivering mail;\n\n3. \"Loan\", \"loaned\", and \"on loan\" means all deposits of\n\nproperty with a museum which are not accompanied by a transfer of\n\ntitle to the property;\n\n4. \"Museum\" means an organization which uses a professional\n\nstaff or the equivalent, whether paid or unpaid, that is primarily\n\nengaged in the acquisition, care, and exhibition to the public of\n\nobjects, interactive displays, or exhibits owned or used by the\n\ninstitution. Further, a museum is understood to possess a variety\n\nof the following characteristics:\n\na. is organized on a permanent or regular basis for\n\nessentially educational or aesthetic purposes,\n\nb. owns or uses tangible objects, either animate or\n\ninanimate,\n\nc. cares for these objects,\n\nd. exhibits these objects to the general public on a\n\nregular basis at or in a facility which it owns or\n\noperates, and\n\ne. provides educational and cultural programming;\n\n5. \"Person\" means an individual, association, trust\n\npartnership, corporation or similar organization having a legal\n\ninterest in property in the possession of a museum;\n\n6. \"Property\" means all tangible objects, animate and\n\ninanimate, under a museum's care which have intrinsic scientific,\n\nhistoric, artistic, or cultural value; and\n\n7. \"Undocumented property\" means property in the possession of\n\na museum for which the museum cannot determine the person with legal\n\ninterest by referencing the museum's records.","path":["OK Code","Title 60"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os60.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"5af17ff51876da12fb77a7c4f5be39dee0b3e74086934e10c0f0efdc116b2952","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-2002"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
