Stat. tit. 60, § 60-655","heading":"Stock or other equity interest in business association -","body":"Unmatured or matured debt.\n\nA. 1. Stock or other equity interest in a business association\n\nis presumed unclaimed three (3) years after the earliest of:\n\na. The date of the most recent dividend, stock split, or\n\nother distribution unclaimed by the apparent owner, or\n\nb. The date a statement of account or other notification\n\nor communication was returned as undeliverable.\n\nThis subsection applies to both the underlying stock, share, or\n\nother intangible ownership interest of an owner, and to the stock,\n\nshare, or other intangible ownership interest in dividend and\n\nnondividend paying business associations whether or not the interest\n\nis represented by a certificate.\n\n2. Except as otherwise provided in Section 657 of this title,\n\nunmatured or unredeemed debt, other than a bearer bond or an\n\noriginal issue discount bond, is presumed unclaimed three (3) years\n\nafter the date of the most recent interest payment unclaimed by the\n\nowner.\n\n3. Except as otherwise provided in Section 657 of this title,\n\nmatured or redeemed debt is presumed unclaimed three (3) years after\n\nthe date of maturity or redemption.\n\n4. At the time property is presumed unclaimed under paragraph 1\n\nor 2 of this subsection, any other property right accrued or\n\naccruing to the owner as a result of the property interest and not\n\npreviously presumed unclaimed is also presumed unclaimed.\n\n5. A stock or other intangible ownership interest enrolled in a\n\nplan that provides for the automatic reinvestment of dividends,\n\ndistributions, or other sums payable as a result of the interest\n\nshall not be presumed to be abandoned if the holder has sent a\n\nstatement or other business communication concerning such property\n\nto the owner by first-class mail and the statement or other business\n\ncommunication has not been returned for inability to make delivery\n\nto the addressee.\n\nB. 1. The running of any three-year period pursuant to\n\nsubsection A of this section ceases if the person:\n\na. communicates in writing with the association or its\n\nagent regarding the interest or a dividend,\n\ndistribution, or other sum payable as a result of the\n\ninterest,\n\nb. otherwise communicates with the association regarding\n\nthe interest or a dividend, distribution, or other sum\n\npayable as a result of the interest, as evidenced by a\n\nmemorandum or other record on file with the\n\nassociation or its agent, or\n\nc. presents an instrument issued to pay interest or a\n\ndividend or other cash distribution. If any future\n\ndividend, distribution, or other sum payable to the\n\nowner as a result of the interest is subsequently not\n\nclaimed by the owner, a new period in which the\n\nproperty is presumed unclaimed commences and relates\n\nback only to the time a subsequent dividend,\n\ndistribution, or other sum became due and payable.\n\nC. Any dividend, profit, distribution, interest, redemption,\n\npayment on principal, or other sum held or owing by a business\n\nassociation for or to its shareholder, certificate holder, member,\n\nbondholder, or other security holder, who has not claimed it, or\n\ncorresponded in writing with the business association concerning it,\n\nwithin three (3) years after the date prescribed for payment or\n\ndelivery, is presumed unclaimed.\n\nD. The Uniform Unclaimed Property Act shall not apply to\n\npatronage dividends, capital credits, customer deposits or non-\n\nnegotiated payment checks held or owing by cooperative electric\n\npower or telephone associations organized under the Rural Electric\n\nCooperative Act and the Telephone Cooperative Corporations Act,\n\nrural water, sewer, gas and solid waste management districts\n\norganized under the Rural Water, Sewer, Gas and Solid Waste\n\nManagement Districts Act, or agricultural cooperative marketing or\n\nsupply associations organized under the Cooperative Marketing\n\nAssociation Act; when such associations are domiciled in Oklahoma.","path":["OK Code","Title 60"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os60.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f83dafd1a0322568f411fe4d20a2eca2eefa7173f0d54276913b32723fdf26c6","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-654.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-655.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
