Stat. tit. 60, § 60-658.1","heading":"Mineral interests in land","body":"Any mineral interest in land in Oklahoma shall be subject to\n\nsale under the provisions of Sections 271.1 through 277 of Title 84\n\nof the Oklahoma Statutes if it generates an intangible property\n\ninterest which is presumed abandoned for a period of fifteen (15)\n\nyears under the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act or under similar laws\n\nof another state.\n\nAll holders of intangible property interests generated by a\n\nmineral interest in land in Oklahoma shall report to the State\n\nTreasurer, in addition to the reporting otherwise required by law,\n\nthe names and the last-known addresses of owners of record of the\n\nunclaimed mineral interest, the legal description of the land\n\naffected, and the extent of the property rights in the mineral\n\ninterest. Only one report with respect to each owner and mineral\n\ninterest is necessary; subsequent reports must include complete\n\ninformation with respect to all new owners and new unclaimed mineral\n\ninterests.\n\nThe State Treasurer shall send a copy of the report required by\n\nthis section to the Attorney General and the district attorney of\n\nthe county in which the land is located. Except to a claimant of\n\nthe unclaimed mineral interest, or as necessary to effectuate a\n\njudicial sale as set forth in Section 271.1 of Title 84 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, the legal description of the mineral interest and\n\nthe extent of the property rights in the mineral interest shall be\n\ndeemed confidential and not released to the general public by the\n\nState Treasurer, Attorney General or district attorney. The State\n\nTreasurer shall send a report reflecting only the names and last-\n\nknown addresses of owners of record of the unclaimed mineral\n\ninterest to the county clerk of the county in which the land is\n\nlocated, and the clerk shall maintain the list for public viewing.\n\nThe clerk shall also report to the board of county commissioners\n\nthat the report has been received, and note the receipt in the\n\nminutes of the meeting, so the public can be informed.\n\nThe State Treasurer is authorized to develop procedures for the\n\nimplementation of the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 60"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os60.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"db503175ef8ae5f80a7d909ad7a36489a923d32b6750193cc5559233d4655c52","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-658","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-658.1a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
