There is hereby created in the State Treasury a revolving\n\nfund for the State Treasurer to be designated the \"Unclaimed\n\nProperty Clearinghouse Fund\". The fund shall be a continuing fund,\n\nnot subject to fiscal year limitations, and shall consist of monies\n\ndeposited to the fund pursuant to Section 668 of this title. All\n\nmonies accruing to the credit of the fund are appropriated to the\n\nState Treasurer. The State Treasurer may budget and expend monies\n\nfrom the fund for the purpose of making payment for the mailing,\n\npublication and sale costs associated with abandoned property, and\n\nto persons, firms, or corporations who are regularly engaged in the\n\nbusiness of notifying states about property which may be subject to\n\nthe provisions of unclaimed property statutes of those states. The\n\nState Treasurer may enter into contracts with these persons, firms\n\nor corporations performing these services, which services may\n\ninclude the examination of any party subject to examination under\n\nthe Uniform Unclaimed Property Act. The State Treasurer may\n\ndelegate all necessary authority to act in the State Treasurer's\n\nbehalf to such persons, firms or corporations to enforce the\n\nprovisions of the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act.\n\nB. The State Treasurer shall be authorized to expend monies\n\nfrom the Unclaimed Property Clearinghouse Fund in payment of a\n\nreasonable fee not to exceed fifteen percent (15%) of the delivered\n\nfunds to a person, firm, or corporation contracting with the State\n\nTreasurer providing information leading to the delivery of unclaimed\n\nproperty held by a holder to the State Treasurer. Such payment\n\nshall not be made until the funds have been deposited with the State\n\nTreasurer.\n\nC. The State Treasurer is authorized to purchase services,\n\nincluding legal services, in order to locate and effect the delivery\n\nof property and related owner information to assist the State\n\nTreasurer in the Treasurer's duties related to the administration of\n\nthe Uniform Unclaimed Property Act.
