Stat. tit. 60, § 60-670","heading":"Determination of amount of reserve - Payment of excesses","body":"The State Treasurer shall determine, from time to time, what\n\namount of unclaimed property in custody should be retained as a\n\nreserve in order to ensure that all claims presented by persons\n\nlegally establishing a right to any unclaimed property shall be paid\n\npromptly. In making such determination, the State Treasurer shall\n\ntake into account the following:\n\n1. The actual experience of other states having unclaimed\n\nproperty laws, as to the amount of claims presented and established\n\nas compared to the total amount of property taken into state\n\ncustody;\n\n2. Such actuarial or other experience or statistics as may be\n\navailable to show the frequency of the discovery of missing persons\n\nor their unknown heirs;\n\n3. Any other discoverable and relevant data having a tendency\n\nto establish the amount of reserve necessary for the purpose stated\n\nin this section.\n\nThe State Treasurer, after having found and determined the\n\nreserve necessary as stated in this section, shall pay all amounts\n\nin custody in excess of the necessary reserve into the State\n\nTreasury to the credit of the General Revenue Fund.\n\nWhen monies are deposited to the credit of the General Revenue\n\nFund, all rights of any owner of unclaimed property to resort\n\nagainst the money so paid into the General Revenue Fund shall\n\nterminate, but the right of any person legally establishing a claim\n\nto any property right which has been taken into the custody of the\n\nState Treasurer shall be preserved and the value thereof shall be\n\npaid from such reserve.","path":["OK Code","Title 60"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os60.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"13a584f8ac8bf07425a2572dfa35e797b27cc16b769909d92e9549634ec184f7","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-67","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-671"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
