The State Treasurer may decline to receive any property\n\nreported under the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act which the State\n\nTreasurer considers to have a value less than the expense of giving\n\nnotice and of sale. The State Treasurer may promulgate rules\n\npursuant to this subsection.\n\nB. A holder, with the written consent of the State Treasurer\n\nand upon conditions and terms prescribed by the State Treasurer, may\n\nreport and deliver property before the property is presumed\n\nabandoned. If a property holder reports and delivers property to\n\nthe State Treasurer before it is presumed abandoned under the\n\nUniform Unclaimed Property Act and it is in the best interest of the\n\nproperty owner for the property to be treated as abandoned, the\n\nTreasurer shall treat the property as abandoned.\n\nC. The State Treasurer may decline to accept weapons abandoned\n\nin safe deposit boxes which become property subject to the Uniform\n\nUnclaimed Property Act. Such property shall be deposited with a\n\nlocal sheriff or municipal police department.\n\nD. If a claimant under the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act makes\n\na verifiable and proper claim, but fails to properly transfer\n\nsecurities into the claimant's name within ninety (90) days of claim\n\napproval by the State Treasurer, the State Treasurer may, upon\n\nnotice to claimant, sell and convert such securities to cash for the\n\nbenefit of the claimant.","path":["OK Code","Title 60"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os60.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f4bdd46d43bcb53fc69dc9316c28733428e91a32bd1e9848ed0acff128ca121b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-675","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-677.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
