The Legislature makes the following findings with regard to\n\nthe rights of persons with developmental or physical disabilities:\n\n1. Persons with developmental or physical disabilities have a\n\nright to appropriate treatment, services, and habilitation for such\n\ndisabilities;\n\n2. The treatment, services, and habilitation for a person with\n\ndevelopmental or physical disabilities should be designed to\n\nmaximize the developmental potential of the person and should be\n\nprovided for in the setting that is least restrictive of the\n\nperson's personal liberty; and\n\n3. All programs for persons with developmental or physical\n\ndisabilities should meet standards which are designed to ensure:\n\na. the most favorable possible outcome for those served,\n\nb. in the case of residential programs for persons with\n\ndevelopmental or physical disabilities, that care is\n\nappropriate to the needs of the persons being served\n\nby such programs,\n\nc. that the persons admitted to facilities of such\n\nprograms are persons whose needs can be met through\n\nservices provided by such facilities, and\n\nd. that the facilities subject to such programs provide\n\nfor the humane care of the residents of the facilities\n\nand protect their rights.\n\nB. The Legislature declares that it is the goal of the\n\nCommunity Residential Living for Persons with Developmental or\n\nPhysical Disabilities Act to improve the quality of life of all\n\npersons with developmental or physical disabilities and to integrate\n\npersons with developmental or physical disabilities into the\n\nmainstream of society by ensuring them the availability of community\n\nresidential opportunities in the residential areas of this state.\n\nIn order to implement this goal, the Community Residential Living\n\nfor Persons with Developmental or Physical Disabilities Act shall be\n\nliberally construed toward that end.","path":["OK Code","Title 60"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os60.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b46eef048e729dc9d9667c4162db888af6435869c01e3df4ad83375a3833f288","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-860","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-60-60-862"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
