Stat. tit. 61, § 61-11","heading":"Public buildings - Facilities for people with disabilities","body":"- Additions to existing buildings.\n\nA. Unless otherwise provided for by law, all plans and\n\nspecifications for the erection of public buildings by this state,\n\nor any agency or political subdivision thereof, or for any building\n\nerected through the use of public funds shall provide facilities for\n\npeople with disabilities. Such facilities shall conform with the\n\ncodes and standards adopted by the State Fire Marshal and amended by\n\nthe Office's promulgated rules. Elevators shall be constructed and\n\ninstalled in said public buildings to the extent deemed feasible and\n\nfinancially reasonable by the contracting authority of the state or\n\nsuch political subdivision. Said codes and standards shall be on\n\nfile in the Office of Management and Enterprise Services.\n\nB. Any building or facility which would have been subject to\n\nthe provisions of this section but for the fact that it was\n\nconstructed prior to May 24, 1973, shall be subject to the\n\nrequirements of this section if additions are made to such building\n\nor facility in any twelve-month period which increase the total\n\nfloor area of such building or facility by twenty-five percent (25%)\n\nor more or if alterations or structural repairs are made to such\n\nbuilding or facility in any twelve-month period which affect twenty-\n\nfive percent (25%) or more of the total floor area of such building\n\nor facility.","path":["OK Code","Title 61"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os61.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f89e17424c7dc85cbef3745bca5f9af40204f9c3fc1eba899d46c201cb0edf80","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-61-61-109","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-61-61-110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
