Stat. tit. 61, § 61-111","heading":"Time for awarding of contract","body":"The awarding of a contract to the lowest responsible bidder or\n\nbidders shall be made within thirty (30) days after the opening of\n\nbids unless the governing body of the awarding public agency, by\n\nformal recorded action and for good cause shown, provides for a\n\nreasonable extension of that period, which extension period shall\n\nnot in any event exceed fifteen (15) days where only state or local\n\nfunds are involved, or not to exceed ninety (90) days on any award\n\nof contract for the construction of a public improvement where funds\n\nare utilized which are furnished by an agency of the United States\n\nGovernment.
